An ancient Hindu legend tells us that there was a time when all men were gods.
They abused their divinity so much that Brahma, the master of the gods, chose to take away their divine power and hide it in a place where it would be impossible for them to find it.
But the problem was finding a place to hide it.
So, the minor gods were summoned to a council and they proposed: “Let us bury the divinity of man in the earth.”
And Brahma answered, “No, it is not enough. Man will dig and find it.”
Then the gods replied, “In that case, let us put the divinity into the deepest depths of the oceans.”
But Brahma replied again: “No, because sooner or later, man will explore the depths of all the oceans, and it is certain that one day he will find it and bring it back to the surface.”
Then the minor gods came to a conclusion: “We do not know where to hide it because there doesn’t seem to be a place on earth or in the sea where man will not find it one day.”
Brahma said, “This is what we will do with the divinity of man: we will hide it deep within him, because it is the only place where he will never think of looking.”
Since then, the legend states that men traveled around the earth, explored, climbed, dived and dug in search of something that was simply hidden inside of them…
