A Marine Sales Lesson From Pablo Escobar

October 11, 2018

Today I’m going to do something bold…

But perhaps (I hope) very much appreciated by you…

— I’m going to bribe you!

Now, before you hit reply and ask me for some details 😉 let me explain myself with a great story from Pablo Escobar.

So, there’s a scene in the popular TV series ‘Narcos’ where Pablo Escobar visits a politician.

Pablo looks at him with a killer stare, waits a few never-ending seconds of silence and says: “Plata o plomo?”

If you were this politician, and unless you had a death wish, you’d answer “plata”.

Why? Let me explain…

Plata means silver & plomo means lead.

Simply, in plain English, Pablo was asking: “Do you want money or a bullet?”

In other words, accept this bribe, do what I ask, or die!

Now, believe it or not, this crime story can be a fantastic a reminder for you as a marine sales professional.

Let me explain:

If you want to sell more boats and yachts, you have to think like Pablo.

Pablo didn’t give his “clients” a third option, he had two: accept this offer or die…

If you want to become a highly-paid boat and yacht broker you either begin investing in yourself (today) or you will not survive in the marketplace.

When was the last time you invested in yourself?

Most of you haven’t because you haven’t decided YES or NO.

You have chosen the third option: “Maybe, I should, later, one day, tomorrow.“

But here is the cold hard truth:

We usually don’t have sales problems.

We just have life problems that reflect in our sales or business.

Remember that the way we do one thing is the way we do everything.

If you don’t have any willpower for going to the gym or cleaning your house, chances are you are going to have no willpower to follow up with your prospects.

If you bargain for everything that you buy, chances are you are going to attract clients that will bargain too.

If you take forever and procrastinate making decisions, chances are you will attract clients that will always be indecisive.

If you don’t invest in yourself, chances are others will not invest in you….

So, here’s my offer:

My team and I would like to spend some one on one time with you.

I know that you have the possibility to fail or to thrive depending on how you set your mind to it.

Do you feel that you can do better?

Do you feel that you deserve more for you and your family?}

Do you feel that you should train more for your clients?

If you’re serious about improving your sales skills this year, I would love to get on a call together and find the right program for you.

I normally charge $500+ per hour for coaching, so this is a great opportunity for you.

Normally, I take 4 to 5 calls per week and have limited spots. Since you sell for a living, you know how valuable training is so don’t wait and schedule your call now: https://meetme.so/vincentfinetti

Like plata o plomo, the decision for you should be obvious.

But, if you choose the bullet, good luck.

To your success!
