Your role as a broker is to implement the most efficient systems to automate your business and increase your sales performance. Technology has never before made our job so simple. It’s a wonderful time to be a boat sale professional if you know how to leverage the new tools available. The best apps, software & online tools will offer you a multitude of ways to be organized, connected, and be more efficient in your day to day job. Are you taking advantage of the best ones out there? I decided to put together a list of 27 essential online tools for boat sales professionals.

    1. Rescue Time

The easiest way to be more productive online is to start tracking your daily activity. Rescue Time is an awesome free time tracking tool. Install it on your computer and it will track every minute you spend in front of your screen. The pro version will cost you only $9 a month and will be paid back in no time, as your productivity will soar. Once installed on your computer, Rescue Time will track the programs or websites you spend time on. It’s an amazing tool that will not only clearly show you how you spend your time, but also the time of the day you are most productive and which days of the week produce the best results. The premium upgrade offers great features such as blocking time distracting sites and even more.

    1. Jawbone Up3

Tracking your online activity is awesome but tracking yourself is even better. Jawbone wearable wristbands will monitor your daily heart rate, steps, sleep and even more. If you want to perform well professionally, one of the first requirements is to take care of yourself personally.  Jawbone offers an easy way to monitor your daily health effortlessly and with impressive details.

    1. Unroll.me

Just like many professionals out there, emails might be your most time-consuming activity.  Majority of us are rolling under hundreds of emails received weekly or daily. Emails should be a way for you to communicate more easily, not a way for other people to control your own agenda. I recently found out about this absolutely amazing app. Unroll.me will show you a list of all the emails you are currently enrolled to and lets you un-enroll from them with a single click. If you are looking for a 5-minute task that will bring dozens of extra hours of productivity this year, give it a try! The day I used it I un-enrolled to over 150 newsletters I wasn’t interested in anymore or had no idea I was signed up to.

    1. One Password

One of the most annoying things online is to constantly look for logins and passwords. What about if there could be a super safe way to store all your passwords under the same place and login to all the websites you want to access with a single click of a mouse? Well, OnePassword made this doable and created their cross-platform password manager app. It takes a few minutes to set up but you will save a ton of time in the long run, guaranteed! Simple, secure, convenient and crazy not to use!

    1. Crashplan

Crashplan is like my house or car insurance; I can’t live without it. Are you still wasting time backing up data on CDs, portable hard drives or even manually on the cloud? Once you install Crashplan you will forget what the word backing up means. If I had to describe Crashplan in 2 words, it would be inexpensive and easy! $5.99 a month and I will never worry about losing my family photos or all my important personal or business digital documents again!

    1. Follow Up.cc

Shhhh! This is my secret weapon for sales. I use it daily and recommend it for anybody that is serious about becoming a top performer. Followup.cc allows me to get into inbox zero mode, easily get rid of my to do list, free my mind and boost my productivity. Have you ever kept an email you have already read in your inbox, keep a reminder folder or spend a lot of time setting up reminders on your calendar? FollowUp.cc lets you forward your emails into the future to remind yourself to follow up. Just cc or bcc “date”@followup.cc and you will receive the email on that date in your inbox reminding you about it. You can use [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] It’s awesome and works like a charm as I have been using it for years now.

    1. Sendoutcards or Speakphoto

One of the keys to success in sales is to find original ways to genuinely show interest, appreciation or send thank you notes to customers. If you don’t want to send written thank you notes, you can use Sendoutcards.com to send hand written cards to customers. If you are more into emails than mail, try to use Speakphoto. Take or choose a photo and easily record a voice over to send it to a client. I used it a few times and those emails are always extremely appreciated.

    1. Canned Responses

If you have Gmail you absolutely need to start using Canned Responses right now. We often spend time sending the same type of emails to our clients. Can the most common email and send them to your clients in a few seconds. To activate Canned Response: Click the Labs tab, find Canned Responses, Click the Enable button to enable Canned Responses, Scroll down and click Save Changes. Compose an email message you’d like to use over and over again, and then click the arrow in the lower right-hand corner of the message window. Repeat the process and create and use as many canned emails as you want.

    1. Charlie App

Listing appointment with a new client in 30 minutes. Oh no, you didn’t finish the research on her background that you were planning to do the night before. OK, just Google her name and you’re safe… well, not so much. Instead, try Charlie app. The app’s benefit is pretty simple—automate your pre-meeting research of new contacts. The one-page that Charlie sends you contains quick links to the contacts’ social profiles, bios pulled from those profiles, mentions online, interests and hobbies extracted from trends in tweets and common connections. To get it up and running, you’ll need to connect it to your Google Calendar (support for Outlook is in the works), Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn account.

    1. Evernote & Dropbox

Ok, those are classic so I am not even going to describe them, but if you are not using them, do yourself a favor and go get them right now.

    1. Fiverr

      I am addicted to Fiverr.

    1. Picmonkey

This is simple photo editing software for monkeys like me who have absolutely no clue how to use photoshop or any other photo editing software out there. Free to do basic things. Just upload your photo, crop, resize et voila! You can finally post it on your favorite social network feed without being distorted or in the totally wrong format.

    1. Videolicious

I am obsessed with this app. I tried it out and in like 3 minutes I created a kickass listing presentation made from a few simple stills that looked like professional video editing with music, transition, voice over, etc… Only issue is that Videolicious works only for enterprises (large firms). I called them and asked about public use and they said they didn’t have anything except plans starting at 5 figures a year. I am desperately looking for a similar app to recommend to you guys to create professional listings videos in minutes with pro editing quality.

    1. Scanner Pro

Scanner Pro is one of the best document scanning apps available in the App Store. Simply snap a photo of a signed document with your iPhone and send it away. Scanner Pro really does make it that simple, and with the amount of paperwork brokers have to deal with, it’ll be one of the best app purchases you’ll ever make. If you frequently need to scan and send signed documents, ditch the office printer and get on board with Scanner Pro. You’ll be glad you did.

    1. Mail Merge

I use Mail Merge every week and it helps me effectively send hundreds of personalized emails without using any email marketing software and complying with all the newsletter regulation and limits. Instead of sending emails 1 by 1, which would take way too much time and energy, you can use a program called Mail Merge. Mail merge allows you to email a group of people and insert their names, or any other unique fields you want into the copy, so it looks to the reader like you’re sending a tailored email. This is a top producer tool and you can check it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=F07Py7sraDg

    1. Tomorrow.do

I am a serial entrepreneur and my mind is always full. I don’t even use a calendar as I’m usually so busy or focused that it is 5pm and I didn’t have time to check it yet. My assistant is doing a great job running my entire agenda and the only thing I use is followup.cc as we saw earlier. When it comes to doing lists, I had the same problem until I found tomorrow.do I love it because it is so easy. 1 list and 2 possibilities: do it or put it off for tomorrow.
